About Us

Bhavan’s Research Center (BRC) for Microbiology, established in 2005, has its genesis in the Department of Microbiology of Bhavan’s College, Mumbai, India. The lab was set up with entrepreneurial support from the prestigious S.P. Jain Management and Research (SPJIMR).
BRC is proud to be one of the few academic enterprises in the country to be ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). It partners with several Indian and multi-national industries for in-vitro and in-vivo claim support time-kill and antimicrobial studies for home and personal care products, besides bioburden testing, pathogen detection and preservative efficacy testing. It also has expertise in water microbiology, including evaluation of water purification systems. BRC is looking to expand the scale and scope of its activities by engaging a competent R&D Manager.

MBA, with a desirable Science background.


5 yrs. preferably in area of lab services.


1. Techno-commercial understanding of the lab.
2. Experience, with sound knowledge of marketing strategies and the required tools.
3. Ability to identify and map competitors.
4. Ability to identify new streams of revenue/collaborators/accreditations in line with BRC capabilities Should possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills to interface with and influence decision making in the organization.


1. Lead B to B business, showcase BRC capabilities, to generate new businesses, partnerships, and accreditations for BRC’s growth and expansion.
2. Responsible for Business planning and implementing business strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
3. Formulate strategies and reach out to unexplored market segment/ customer groups for business expansion with margin accretive growth.
4. Actively research and evaluate new opportunities, capabilities; and work with technical & research teams to meet customer satisfaction.
5. Oversee and develop market campaigns, participate in exhibitions, workshops, training programs, conferences, etc. to enhance BRC’s visibility.
6. Ensure effective marketing communications via conventional & digital platforms.
